Every year, each Dates-n-Mates branch, crowns a new member champion.
As a member-led charity, our Champion Points reward our members for a variety of ways they can participate in supporting the running of Dates-n-Mates, volunteering and developing their friendship and relationship skills.
The person with the most points gathered over the year is the winner of their branch and receive a prize!
We are delighted to announce our wonderful 2024 champion winners.
Renfrewshire - Jennifer Byars
Jennifer gained points by attending workshops on topics such as healthy relationships as well as our cooking classes with Active Communities.
Jennifer also took part in a presentation at our International Women’s Day event with Kairos Women+ and took part in the member’s panel at our Love Without Limits Conference.
Stirling & Clackmannanshire -
Jennifer Anne Blair
Jennifer collected points for attending workshops, being a friendly face volunteer at events, collecting raffle prizes, taking part in love without limits, helping members at events and for referring new members.
Aberdeen - Lisa Coutts
To gain points, Lisa volunteered with us and helped staff and volunteers at events. She helped other members, gave a thank you speech at an event and took part in an STV news feature.
Lisa also engaged in almost all of our workshops throughout the year.
Falkirk - Danny Killen
Danny earned points for his friendliness towards members, as well as his efforts in keeping conversations flowing and encouraging attendance at workshops.
He has also delivered speeches at party nights, expressing gratitude to everyone for coming, and acknowledging the contributions of volunteers and staff.
Glasgow - Tariq Siddique
Tariq gathered his champion points by attending and engaging with many of our workshops, and being a Friendly Face volunteer at our events supporting others members. Tariq also gained some ‘mates points’ and took part in the Kiltwalk fundraiser.
