Dates-n-Mates members are regularly involved in all aspects of our project. Sometimes they participate in recruitment interviews for new staff.
In April 2021, a few members worked with Regional Lead, Emma, to host interviews with potential Events and Community Engagement Workers in Renfrewshire.
Members Jenny, Ross and Kenny helped write questions and lead two second stage interviews via Zoom.
They asked potential candidates important questions that effect their experience within Dates-n-Mates.
Jenny said she “enjoyed asking the candidates questions and giving my opinion on staff joining the project.”
Ross “really enjoyed the experience” and Kenny said he “would do it again”.
Members play a vital role in the design and delivery of our project and they are at the heart of what we do. Members insight and personal lived in experience supports our efforts to reduce social isolation and loneliness for adults with learning disabilities and employing the best staff helps us do this.
