DnM Falkirk keep busy in December!

Falkirk members get creative, head to the panto and more!

Although there were slightly less events than previous months, and with the weather playing havoc with our events, we still got stuck in and our members made the best of it! Our members have been incredibly creative this month, with art workshops being held in the local Morrisons Community Room.

We visited the FTH Theatre in the few days before Christmas and managed to catch a showing of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, where our members sang along, and had many a giggle courtesy of the brilliant actors on stage. Central Wellbeing SCIO once again came through for us, allowing us to use their space for a lovely and cosy movie afternoon, even with some hot chocolate thrown in!

Our members were lucky enough to have not one, but two Christmas parties! The first party was held at Reddingmuirhead Community Hall, where some members and volunteers enjoyed fantastic live music from Erin Ramsay, and the Keynotes Choir. Santa even popped in for an early present delivery!

Our big night out, and second party was held at Beancross Farm, where the members partied the night away with over 300 other people from the Falkirk community, even managing to win some prosecco in the process!

As you can see, we’ve had a cracking time this month, and we’ve got much more planned for the new year. Our director John Clarke had this to say about what Dates n Mates Falkirk can offer:

“I am the director for dates n mates Falkirk. We arrange to have a coffee and cake at start of each month where members come along and give us there ideas of what events they want to do as it is member led.

I felt that the events in December were good, and busy. We held a lot of events, and we also had a couple arts and crafts events held in the community room in Morrison’s in Falkirk. We also held our first Xmas party in about 2 years due to Covid, at Reddingmuirhead community hall had Keynotes choir doing couple songs, and also Erin Ramsay, both were really good. Also a surprise visit from Santa, and a raffle with an lot of good prizes donated to us. We also had a Xmas party with dinner and band at beancross which the members loved. “

“Members loves getting out meeting new friends and enjoy entertainment. We also have a friendly face volunteer that loves hosting a event every month, and also have other volunteers that loves to help out as much as they can.”

Our members have been busy this month, and there’s much more to come!
