Happiness at Work Week 2023

The 25th-29th of September is International Happiness at Work week.

Happiness at work is so important… employees who are happy at work are happier in the rest of their life’s and also tend to be more passionate about the work they do. Happiness at Work should be a top priority for all companies.

At Dates-n-Mates, our colleagues and volunteers happiness in their roles is very important to us.

This week, we asked some of our team to share the reasons they are happy at work and what they most love about working with Dates-n-Mates. We loved hearing their passionate and positive responses.

You can watch the videos below from our local branch teams:

We also spoke with Natalie, who is one of our Dates-n-Mates Volunteers. She shared her views on happiness at work and within volunteering:

“My job is a case manager for Social Security Scotland which means I make decisions on applications for disability benefits. I love my job because it’s helping people in need to access benefits they are entitled to and it is very rewarding to hear relief and happiness in my clients voices when I am able to process their cases. It is also fascinating and interesting as I am studying different medical conditions and disabilities all the time.

I love volunteering for Dates & Mates as the members are a joy and it also helps me to understand my job and clients better and vice versa so they work wonderfully together”
