This conference brings together Dates-n-Mates colleagues, members and supporters alongside partner organisations and the wider learning disability community for important conversations on human rights and relationships.
Together we can challenge the barriers and stigma people with learning disabilities continue to face around socialising, relationships, dating, sex and love to send a powerful message that everyone has the right to develop meaningful connections of their choosing.
What to expect on the day...
- Speeches from the Dates-n-Mates team
- An interactive session with Alastair Minty in connection with Stay up late Scotland
- A presentation from Ruth Callendar on behalf of Sottish Commission for Learning Disabilities (SCLD)
- A relationships workshop taster session with Dates-n-Mates
- A panel Q&A with powerful lived experience stories directly from Dates-n-Mates members
- A presentation and talk from Rape Crisis Grampian *TBC
- A tea, coffee and biscuit break
- Opportunities and activities to connect with the work we do and with one another.
- A promotional area with signposting to a variety of related resources.
