Virtual Dance-a-thon Success!

Dance-a-thon 2021

26 Dates-n-Mates members, staff and volunteers, took part in our FIVE HOUR dance-a-thon on Friday 23rd April, as part of this year’s virtual Kiltwalk.

The fundraiser kicked off at 3pm with some members dancing for the full 5 hours – hats off to Kenny Murphy, Andrew Bloor, Craig Green, Karoline Carmichael and Hughie McIntyre! Absolute troopers!

Others joined us at various times throughout the day, and even our youngest participant, 2 year old Evie (staff member’s daughter) boogied her heart out for over an hour!

Volunteer, Jess took to Glasgow Green to dance her herself dizzy in public, even encouraging passers by to join her in a jig – AND to make a donation to dates-n-mates!

The grand total raised was a whopping…

£10,598.53!!!

This includes the 50% top up from the Tom Hunter Foundation.

So that’s a grand total of £2,649.62 per Dates-n-Mates branch.

So a HUGE pat on the back to EVERYONE who took part! We couldn’t do this without you and your support means we can really make a difference to the opportunities that we offer our members.

A BIG thank you for all your fantastic fundraising efforts – and here’s to next year!
